Mary A. Van Kerrebrook
Mary has
been named in "Who’s Who in American Law" every year since 1998. In
June of 2007, she was named one of “Houston’s Top Lawyers” by H
Texas Magazine. Mary is a native Houstonian. Her law
degree is from Southern Methodist University, where she was a member
of both the law review and the S.M.U. Law School ATLA Trial Advocacy
Team. She attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois,
where she obtained a B.A. in Economics.
Mary is admitted to the United States District
Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, the
United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States
Supreme Court. Mary has lectured on “Maximizing Your Client's
Chances in Litigation to the Texas Association of Property Tax
Professionals”, and on “Property Tax Valuation of Texas Real Estate,” at
The Commercial Real Estate Short Course. She chaired the 2010 State Bar of Texas Property Tax Legal Seminar,
and will also head the 2011 Seminar.
Claudia D. Christin
Claudia
obtained her law degree and her Master’s in Business Administration from the University of
Houston. While in law school, Claudia was an Associate Editor of the
Houston Law Review. Claudia is a member of the State Bar of Texas
and of the Houston Bar Association. She has lectured at the
University of Houston Law School Advanced Evidence Seminar. Claudia
holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Michael Saegert
Michael is an accomplished attorney with over 14 years of experience representing individuals, businesses, and governmental entities with special emphasis on property tax matters. Prior to entering private practice in June of 2009 he served as legal counsel to the Harris County Appraisal Review Board, one of the largest administrative appeal boards in the nation. There he taught and developed core curriculum and implemented course work used in educating public officials and support staff regarding local property taxation.
Michael earned his Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1996 from the South Texas College of Law located in Houston, Texas. While attending law school, he was an associate editor for the Corporate Law Review and worked with the Harris County Attorney's office in its eminent domain and general counsel divisions. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of St. Edwards University located in Austin.
